Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education.

At Cataldo, our Extracurricular activities are classified in
two categories: Arts & Athletics
Athletics
The goals of the Cataldo Cougar Athletic Program are:

To instill good sportsmanship

To provide students the opportunity to participate

To teach athletic skills and techniques, both as an individual and as a team

To foster spiritual development based on Christian values
All students are eligible to play provided they are of age, are in good academic standing, and have been cleared by their doctor.

8th Grade Girls Only: Cheerleading
Chess
Chess is offered to students in 2nd through 6th grades. Students learn through lectures, videos, exercises, and tournament play. Chess promotes logical thinking, instills a sense of self-confidence and self-worth, and improves communication and pattern recognition skills. It teaches the values of hard work, concentration, objectivity, and commitment.
Drama
The Drama program offered at Cataldo is nothing short of spectacular for a K-8 school. Led by the talented Mrs. Jenna Solberg, Cataldo’s full-time Music, Strings, and Drama instructor, budding actors and actresses have the opportunity to shine in the spotlight.
The extra-curricular Drama Program is offered to students in grades 5-8. Months of preparation go into these amazing productions! Additional instructors, choreographers, and countless parent volunteers make it all happen.
Willy Wonka, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan…just to name a few…have been performed in recent years.
Strings
Strings is offered as an after-school program to students in 4th grade and up. Both a beginner and intermediate class is offered.
